The event was hosted by the University of Texas and brought together students from across the state.
Members of the Duchesne Model UN club took part in a virtual Model UN conference on July 25. The event was hosted by the University of Texas and gave students the opportunity to explore an international response to the global pandemic. Each of the Duchesne participants, Anika Miro-Quesada, Katie Giveon, and Analys Barinaga, represented a nation in the G-20. They met with students from other schools and debated possible solutions to the issue. After reviewing many ideas, the committee passed four resolutions to global issues ranging from health to the economic effect of the virus to preventing a future pandemic. The virtual experience was different but it modeled the current conditions for all global conversations.
