Volleyball Program Pairs Athletics with Philanthrophic Initiatives

Duchesne Volleyball raised money for breast cancer research and donated items to support coaches who were flooded during recent storms.

In honor of breast cancer awareness month, Duchesne's volleyball teams partnered with the Side-Out Foundation to raise money for breast cancer research through the Dig Pink initiative. Duchesne raised nearly $2,000 through t-shirts sold to volleyball players and members of the Duchesne community. The Varsity, JV, and Middle School volleyball teams played in Dig Pink games on October 2 and 3 where all players, as well as many spectators, wore pink in honor of breast cancer research.

On October 1, the Varsity Volleyball team defeated Beaumont Kelly in 4 at home. The Chargers had learned that the Beaumont coaches both had their homes flooded during Tropical Storm Imelda, so the girls collected gift cards and donation items to help the Beaumont coaches as they go through the repair and rebuild process.
