Duchesne Academy Celebrates Christmas

Annual traditions and social awareness projects highlight the season.

The students, families, faculty, and staff of Duchesne Academy of the Sacred Heart took part in numerous celebratory events throughout the Christmas season this year. In Lower School, the girls collected items and then created 140 bags filled with toys and clothes to give to the Children's Assessment Center in Houston. Middle School also collected items for charity with each advisory providing gifts to Catholic Charities to support families in need. In Upper School, social awareness projects included creating bags with necessities to give to homeless people in Houston.

Each division also participated in Advent prayer services, as well as musical performances. The Middle and Upper School choirs came together for the annual Christmas concert presented over two nights in early December. During the last week of school before break, Lower School performed the much-loved Christmas program featuring the girls dressed as angels. And Christmas spirit was on display throughout the month of December with various free dress days where the students, faculty, and staff donned ugly sweaters and Christmas accessories.
