The St. Philippine Society
The St. Philippine Society was named for St. Rose Philippine Duchesne, who brought Sacred Heart education to the United States in 1818. Members of the St. Philippine Society are those who make or have made Duchesne a beneficiary of a bequest or other planned gift and who inform the school of their commitment.
Planned gifts build the endowment, a perpetual fund where income provides essential financial support for all aspects of Duchesne for years to come. You can invest in the future of our educational programs, scholarships for deserving students, and faculty enrichment for our amazing teachers.

Making a Bequest to Duchesne Academy
Each year, Duchesne Academy is the beneficiary of charitable bequests made by individuals who share the school's dream and vision. Bequests can take many forms, including a specific amount or a percentage of an estate. The following language may be used when making such bequests.
To bequeath a specific amount:
"I give, devise, and bequeath to Duchesne Academy of the Sacred Heart, a nonprofit corporation located in Harris County, Texas, the sum of $_________ for use in (state the purpose for which you wish your bequest to be used, or indicate "general purposes").
To bequeath a percentage:
"I give, devise, and bequeath to Duchesne Academy of the Sacred Heart, a nonprofit corporation located in Harris County, Texas, ____ percent of my residual estate, both real and personal, for use in (state the purpose for which you wish your bequest to be used, or indicate "general purposes").
