Coach Info

  • WillaLauren Darby

    Lauren Darby is from Houston, Texas. She earned a BA in Environmental Science and an MA in Education from the University of Southern California, where she was a member of the volleyball team. During her athletic career at the school, she competed in three Final Four appearances for the team and was named as a Division 1 All-American twice; named to the All-Region teams twice; named a three-time all PAC-12 player and was named to the PAC-12 freshman team in 2008. She also competed for USA Volleyball, playing in the youth World Games in Macau, China, as well as in the North American Championships in Puerto Rico. Prior to starting at Duchesne, Mrs. Darby worked as a fifth-grade teacher in California, before working at the Children's Museum of Houston as a Science Curriculum Specialist. At Duchesne, she currently serves in the Physical Education Department as a teacher and coach, responsible for coordinating and running the Middle School volleyball program while being the head coach for the eighth-grade volleyball team. She has also assisted the Varsity volleyball team and high school program and coached basketball and Middle School track and field.

  • GomasAshley Gomila

    Ashley Gomila is from New Orleans where she played varsity volleyball and varsity softball all four years while attending McGehee High School. She went on to play collegiate softball for two years. Ms. Gomila holds a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology from the University of Kentucky and a master’s of sports science from the United States Sports Academy. She has more than a decade of coaching experience. At Duchesne, she serves as a the P.E. department chair as well as a coach for Middle School volleyball and the head coach for the Upper School softball team.

  • HogerErin Hogan

    Erin Hogan grew up in Weimar, a small town west of Houston. Because she attended a small-town school, she was able to play multiple sports in high school — volleyball, basketball, track and field, cross country, as well as cheerleading. She attended the University of Texas at Austin where she played intramural volleyball and basketball, and earned a degree in kinesiology. She has coached volleyball, track and field, basketball, and tennis at the Middle School level and has coached championship athletes in each sport. At Duchesne, she coaches Middle School volleyball and basketball.
