Visual Arts
The visual arts program at Duchesne develops strong, confident, expressive visual art skills.
Students draw, paint, sculpt, photograph, study art history, and create two- and three-dimensional designs with projects that incorporate the elements of art and the principles of design using both traditional methods and modern technology.
Students are encouraged to understand the art of ancient cultures as well as contemporary culture. They are nurtured to go beyond being consumers of contemporary culture to becoming active agents who create new symbols of hope, community, and commitment. Students receive enrichment opportunities through competitions, workshops, and museum and gallery visits.
