Duchesne Visual Art empowers students to express personal, universal, and abstract ideas with confidence, sharing their unique visions with the community in an environment of joyful creation. With courage, they experiment across digital, 2D, and 3D mediums, creating original works that reflect their individual viewpoints while exploring cultural perspectives and learning from the work of their peers. Through this creative process, students develop compassion, gaining a deeper appreciation for diverse experiences and the power of artistic expression to connect humanity.

Lower School

In Lower School, young artists build a strong studio foundation through drawing, painting, and beginning sculpture. Art classes encourage exploration, creativity, and confidence as students develop their individual artistic interests. Through hands-on projects, they discover the joy of self-expression and the building blocks of visual storytelling.

Middle School

Middle School students expand their creative vocabulary through drawing, painting, sculpture, and mixed media. They explore art history and contemporary art while learning the elements of art and principles of design. Students are guided to think critically about the world around them and are introduced to competitions, workshops, and museum visits that enrich their experience.

Upper School

Upper School artists refine their craft and voice through advanced work in two- and three-dimensional design, photography, sculpture, and digital media. With an emphasis on both traditional techniques and modern technology, students analyze global and contemporary art, engage in meaningful critiques, and create pieces that reflect hope, community, and purpose. Enrichment opportunities, including exhibitions and gallery visits, support their growth as artists and changemakers.
