Breast cancer survivor, entrepreneur, and advocate, Claudia Farinola '82, credits Duchesne with shaping her faith and leadership. Waterman '23
We are so proud of Jackie Waterman ’23, Texas A&M ’27, who is thriving in the Corps of Cadets. Out of nearly 600 sophomores, Jackie was selected as one of only 17 Sergeant Majors and now serves as Sergeant Major of 3rd Group, supervising 192 cadets. Jackie credits her Duchesne education for shaping her values of discipline, leadership, and service that she carries with her today.

Julia Gsell '14
Julia Gsell’s career journey—from journalism to advertising to Amazon’s global influencer marketing—has been grounded in the communication, adaptability, and global mindset she developed at Duchesne. After studying journalism at Washington and Lee University, she pivoted from news to event marketing, which led her to roles in New York and now London.
