Duchesne Academy wraps up a banner year with commencement ceremonies for the class of 2019.
Duchesne Academy hosted its 56th commencement exercises on Friday, May 24, 2019 to end the 2018-2019 school year. The keynote speakers at the graduation ceremony were alumnae Meghan Perley Leggett ’03 and Kathleen Perley ’06 who spoke about their time at Duchesne and how their high school experience shaped their lives.
The class of 2019 includes 56 graduates who collectively earned more than $7.2 million dollars in merit scholarship awards and were admitted to nearly 130 colleges and universities across the United States, Canada, and Europe. This year's valedictorian is Lizzy Davidson and the co-salutatorians are Zoe Barinaga and Natalie Ellis.
The 2018-2019 academic year was particularly noteworthy for Duchesne. The athletics program saw two State Championships, one in field hockey and another in tennis. School facilities expanded with the opening of an on-campus coffee shop and the construction of a turf athletic field. Additionally, progress continued on initiatives laid out in the strategic plan to focus on student well-being, academic programming, and advising.
