Athletics Banquet Honors Upper School Athletes

Outstanding student-athletes earned awards recognizing achievements on and off the field. 

The 2018-2019 season was a standout year for Charger Athletics with Duchesne Academy winning two State Championships and competing in numerous regional and district tournaments. The Athletics Banquet, held on May 17, celebrated the achievements of Upper School athletes and featured keynote speaker Veronica Latsko, a forward for the Dash, Houston's professional women's soccer team. 

Coaches from each JV and Varsity team discussed the season's highlights and presented awards to outstanding team members. The award winners are as follows:

Cross Country

The night's highest honors went to junior Cee Cee Van Pelt and senior Carol Longo. CeeCee won the Theodore Munchak Award in recognition of her leadership and performance on the field hockey and basketball teams. Carol won the Senior Athlete of the Year Award for her outstanding accomplishments, including scoring the game-winning goal in the Field Hockey State Championship.
