Jill Hess is from Corpus Christi, Texas. She has a BFA in painting from the University of Houston, as well as years of ceramics study at a local pottery gallery and studio. Before transferring to U of H, she attended Tulane University as a chemistry, and then a math major. Prior to her teaching career, Mrs. Hess worked at two newspaper libraries, and as a newsroom artist. At Duchesne, she has taught Upper School drawing, painting, ceramics, digital art and video, and yearbook. For the last 12 years, she was Upper School Dean of Students. This year, she is teaching full time, and her courses include ceramics, digital graphics, and yearbook. Mrs. Hess is also a junior class advisor.
