Classrooms and Schedules
Lower School: Students will follow their normal 8-day rotation schedule. Specials teachers will travel to the homeroom classrooms, and when the contact minimization scenario is in place, the students in the alternative learning rooms will participate via Teams. Students will attend PE by grade level with physical distancing.
Middle School: Students will follow their class schedule as normal. Classroom furniture will be adjusted to allow for physical distancing.
Upper School: Students will follow their class schedule as normal. Classroom furniture will be adjusted to allow for physical distancing.
Additionally, please review the contact minimization scenario for information about measures that will be taken to implement increased physical distancing within classes as the campus initially reopens.
Learning Management Systems
All teachers and students will utilize the Microsoft Teams app each day in the classroom. Faculty are to use recorded tutorials for Teams management of assignments. The same tools will be used consistently throughout the year regardless of whether a student is in the classroom or in remote learning.
In Middle and Upper School, Microsoft Teams will replace DuchesneConnect as the tool that teachers and students use to manage assignments. In Lower School, Seesaw is a new interactive, multimedia tool that all students, teachers, and parents will use instead of DuchesneConnect. It will be the platform through which students submit their completed work and will offer greater opportunities for critical thinking and creativity.
