As head of the St. Luke’s Foundation, May is charged with developing, implementing, and sustaining a clear strategy and priorities for the Foundation while leading all philanthropic and giving programs for the Foundation and the other CHI Foundations of Texas. May’s nearly two decades of fundraising experience give her the skills to forge authentic, actionable relationships in the community through the cultivation and stewardship of prospective donors while maintaining relationships with current donors to fulfill philanthropic goals.

Before joining CHI St. Luke’s, May served as Vice President of Development for Houston Methodist Hospital Foundation, where her primary focus was major and principal gifts fundraising and the management of relationships between the Foundation and services lines, including the expansion of the Foundation in anticipation of a capital campaign.

Her previous positions included Director of Principal Gifts for the Yale School of Medicine in New Haven, Connecticut, where she helped raise a record $3.8 billion for Yale University and $783 million for the School of Medicine. She also served in similar positions with Babson College, Wellesley, Massachusetts and the State University of New York and Houston’s Rice University.

May is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and the Association of American Medical Colleges.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Rice University in Houston.
