DARTS club puts on this event every year where people sign up to perform various
things and the club provides food and sells coffee. Performances include
singing, playing instruments, bands, acting, poetry, dance, improvisation,
comedy, and pretty much anything else you can think of. It is always very
entertaining. During th
e
performances, coffee is sold by club-members. You can buy a bottomless coffee
cup for about three dollars, and you get to take your coffee mug home with you!
Otherwise, you can buy one cup at a time in a Styrofoam cup for one dollar each.
This year a raffle was held and some great prizes were given away. Normally, the
event is held outside on the brick steps in front of the chapel, but this year
since the weather was disagreeable we put it on inside the Atrium, which was
just as much fun. While Coffee House is going on, the high school art classes
put on an art show in the Atrium that is truly spectacular, highlighting the
best works of the students.
Coffee House runs
from 4-7, but if you don't want the evening to end there, you can go see the
Duchesne dance team, a.k.a. the Duchesne Divas, in their annual show. This takes
place in Cameron Theater from 7:30 to around 9:30 with an intermission halfway
through.
Coffee House is a great experience, and anyway, how can you beat being with your friends, drinking coffee, listening to music, and laughing at jokes?....it's a rhetorical question! Your not actually supposed to come up with an answer! Haha, I'm just joking with you, but come to Coffee House next year because it's really awesome!
How to Enjoy Coffee House:
1) Sign up for a time slot to perform (only if you want to, of course)
2) Just show up! It's FREE so bring your friends (it's also more fun that way!)
3) Grab a cup of coffee, tea, or soda and nibble on some snacks.
4) Sit back, relax, and enjoy watching the performances!
