The Middle School math department
has a new set of "Flashmasters". Flashmasters are a hand held machine used to strengthen basic math
facts. The tests can be timed or each problem can be timed. There are
30 problems in a test and the results are shown at the end of the test.
Our goal is to have the 5th graders spend 2 or 3 seconds to complete each
problem within a test. Students are working on improving their adding,
subtracting, multiplication, and division facts! |

The 5th grade have been learning
about fractions, decimals, and percent equivalents. For fun, each
student was given a bag of M &M's. They had to write a fraction, decimal
and the percent of each M & M color in the bag. It was a yummy math
assignment! |
