The Upper School robotics team, Iron Plaid, won second place and the Spirit Award at the Lone Star Regional First Robotics Competition on Friday, April 2. The competition was held at the George R. Brown Convention Center. Teams had six weeks to design, build, and test their robots for the competition. Iron Plaid team members are: Morgan Allford, Sofia Avendano, Monica Barrera, Saptati Bhattacharjee, Caroline Brown, Jaquelin Galindo, Juliet Garcia, Christine Gebera, Hannah Hoffman, Shereen Mohamed, Evelyn Orth, Elizabeth Priebe, Annia Ruiz, Brianna Sharum, and Emma Wick.
In addition, the team was featured in a report on the competition that aired on KIAH-TV (channel 39).
