Third Grade Student Earns Music Award

Third grader, Joanna Kass passed her Grade 1 - Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music exam in piano with flying colors! Joanna took the exam in the fall and has taken piano lessons for over five years. In addition to playing the piano, Joanna sings and plays the drums. Joanna passed the same type of exam for singing, as well. She also participates in the choir at Duchesne. This is her first year at Duchesne and we are lucky to have such a bright and talented musician.

The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music is a very well respected educational body that provides examinations in music. The organization is based in London and one of their examiners flew in from London to grade the Houston candidates.
