Tennis and Track Teams Win District

The tennis and track teams both won first place at the TAPPS District competition.

In tennis, Freshman Farris Cunningham won first place in Singles and Sophomore Kelsey Van Noy was the runner up. The team of Jenna Dodge, Junior, and Clothilde Thirouin, Senior, won the district doubles championship with Sophomores Catherine Butler and Lexi Cunningham taking the doubles consolation championship. All of these girls will compete at the state tournament on April 23-24.

The track and field team did exceptionally well at the district meet, winning by 24 points over St. Agnes. First place winners at the district meet were: Freshman Jackie Manley - 800M, and High Jump; Junior Shannon Klenke - 1600M and 3200M; Senior Briana Shay - 300M Hurdles; Senior Kimberly Horrell - Pole Vault; Senior Cristina Calderon, Kimberly Horrell, Briana Shay, and Sophomore Katy Wefelmeyer - 4x100 Relay; Cristina Calderon, Kimberly Horrell, Jackie Manley, and Briana Shay - 4x200 Relay; and Shannon Klenke, Jackie Manley, Katy Wefelmeyer, and Freshman Sarah Welter - 4x400 Relay. Finishing in second place were: Cristina Calderon - 100M; Kimberly Horrell - 200M; and Katy Wefelmeyer - 400M. Third place finishers were: Sarah Welter - 400M and 800M; and Freshman Bridget Daly - Triple Jump.
