Emergency Procedures
Emergency Dismissals
In case of weather alerts and other emergencies, Duchesne Academy will notify all radio and television stations if the school will be closing. Individual notification will occur through the AlertNow messaging system.
AlertNow is our primary form of communication when we need to get time sensitive information to you. It is important that you keep your phone and email information current in your DASHConnect account. DASHConnect and AlertNow synchronize nightly. You should receive messages these three ways:

Phone
call to your home phone, both parent cell phones, and the phone number
listed as your AlertNow Alternate Emergency Contact. |

Text
message to both parent cell phones, student cell phone, and the phone
number listed as your AlertNow Alternate Emergency Contact. |
3.

Email
message to your primary family email address, both parent email
addresses, and the email address listed as your AlertNow Alternate
Emergency Contact. |
Generally, the school will closely monitor the decisions of the Houston and Spring Branch Independent School Districts regarding the closing of school. In only rare instances will the school announce a late opening or early dismissal if the emergency occurs during the school day. Parents who must pick up their children early can do so by calling or emailing the school in advance.
Emergency Management
Emergency management procedures are posted in each room as well as in DASHConnect. Practices are held regularly during the school year.
