The art program at Duchesne develops strong, confident, expressive visual art skills. Students explore drawing, painting, sculpture, art history, and two and three dimensional design with projects that incorporate the elements of art and the principles of design using traditional methods and modern technology. The art program encourages students to understand the art of ancient cultures as well as contemporary culture. Students are nurtured to go beyond being consumers of contemporary culture to becoming active agents who create new symbols of hope, community and commitment. Students have additional opportunities through competitions, workshops, and museum and gallery visits.
